NAAN has developed a Training Pack and DVD to
assist in the training of paid and volunteer Appropriate Adults.
The Pack, which has been approved by the Department of Health, was
revised and updated in 2009.
A copy of the the Pack and DVD is
sent to all new members. It can also be downloaded from the
member-only section of the website.
The Training Pack and DVD are available for
sale to non-members at a cost of £150.00. Please
contact us for further
details.
NAAN has worked with the Open College Network, London Region
(OCNLR) to get the NAAN Training accredited. Three (level 2) Units
were approved by OCNLR in 2008. These are available to members (on
payment of a one-off fee) who wish to use them to get their
own training accredited directly with their regional OCN.
In 2010 NAAN produced a Guide to developing OCN Accredited
Appropriate Adult Training. This Guide can be downloaded from the
member-only section of the website.
NAAN can now offer Appropriate Adult training for staff teams to
both members and non members, through a bank of NAAN registered
trainers. Contact
us for further details.
Please note that this training is aimed at staff teams or groups
of workers or volunteers. There is currently no NAAN-approved stand
alone training that individuals can attend as most AA training is
provided to their staff or volunteers by the organisations
delivering the appropriate adult service locally.
For further information about how to become an appropriate adult
please download the Information Sheets on the Volunteering page of this
website.
